LPG - liquified petroleum gas flow calculation

This calculator can be used for calculation of flow rate and heat power in liquified petroleum gas (propane-butane) pipe lines.

Liquified petroleum gas is mixture of propane, butane and other components. This calculator is applicable for calculation of flow rate of gas and liquid phase and lpg heat power calculation (heat power is generated in gas furnaces). Calculator also can be used for calculation of clear propane or clear butane gas flow.

Propane and butane in gas state are considered as compressible. When liquid mixture of propane and butane is calculated, LPG is considered as incompressible. All physical properties are calculated for the given propane - butane composition.

Calculator can be used for calculations of lpg pipe line diameter, when flow rate is known. Flow rate of lpg can be given as mass flow rate, volumetric flow rate of liquid phase, volumetric flow rate of gas phase at normal conditions.

Also, if lpg is used as fuel in gas furnace, for known burner heat power, needed volume of lp gas can be calculated.

LPG calculator can be used for conversions between mass and volumetric flow rate (liquid and gas phase). Gas phase flow rate is calculated at normal conditions: pressure (atmospheric) p = 101325 Pa and temperature T=273.15 K
