The Web Start calculator deployment gives you an opportunity to use the calculator from your computer and have it downloaded to hard disk. To use this deployment you will need to have Java™ runtime environment on your computer. You can read full instruction here. This deployment gives you an easy way of updating calculator to the latest available version, as Web Start technology has made that functionality smooth and easy.

Once you download the calculator on your computer, you will be able to install it like any other native application. You will be informed if the new version is available, so you can download the new version and install it. Before installing the new version you should remove - uninstall the old one. This deployment version is available only for Windows™ 64 bit users right now. The size of the download file is significantly higher compared to the Web start deployment.
